Huge honors for SILHOUETTE OF A SPARROW!

by admin on January 31, 2013

My debut Young Adult novel, Silhouette of a Sparrow, has been named a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award!  Out of the 270 nominations, 32 books (4 books in each of 8 categories) were just announced as finalists–it is a huge honor to be included in this pool of talented authors and wonderful books.  The gala will take place on April 13th, with a “meet the finalists” evening at the Loft on March 15th.  Stay tuned for further developments.

The American Library Association has also included Silhouette of a Sparrow on the 2013 “Rainbow List,” a project which recognizes GLBTQ literature for young people, and it is a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award in the Children’s/Young Adult category!  The Lambda Literary foundation received 687 submissions for “The Lammys” this year, which is an all-time record.  Finally, Silhouette is a finalist for ForeWord’s Book of the Year Award, which honors great new releases from small presses.
